PROJECT: Crail Camera Crew Photo Exhibit

OBJECTIVE: Highlight and celebrate the decades of documenting skateboard culture through a unique photo exhibit, introducing Crailtap in a gallery setting for the first time.

BACKGROUND: Crailtap, an iconic creative hub within the legendary Girl Distribution company, has been at the forefront of documenting skateboard culture. To bring this rich history to the limelight, Magna Opera teamed up with GIRL Skateboards, conceptualizing and presenting a one-of-a-kind photo exhibit at the Paper Agency Gallery in downtown LA. But this wasn't just any exhibit; it challenged conventions by being about skateboarding without showcasing actual skate photos.

STRATEGY:

• Photo & Video Production: Curated a diverse range of works from influential figures in skateboarding. Simultaneously, a video recap of the event showcased artist interviews, giving viewers a personal touch to the entire exhibit experience.

• Product Design & Development: Created a niche capsule collection that aligned with the exhibit's theme, including a Mike Carrol cruiser deck, photo tees, and a richly photographed zine, ensuring attendees could take a piece of history home.

CREATIVE:

• Event Production: The CCC Photo Show transformed the Paper Agency Gallery into a mecca for skateboard culture enthusiasts. With a fresh spin on skate photography, it became an immersive experience for attendees.

• Media Buy & Earned Media Placement: Through a strategic partnership with High Snobiety, the event's reach was amplified, garnering attention not just from the skateboarding community but from a wider audience interested in lifestyle, art, and culture.

OUTCOME:
The CCC Photo Show became more than just an art exhibit; it was a testament to the deep-rooted culture of skateboarding and the people who've given it life over the decades. Magna Opera's vision and execution ensured that over 2000 people experienced this homage to skateboarding. With sold-out merchandise at the opening and significant press coverage, the event stood as a testament to how skateboarding intersects with art and culture.
